It started with the nightmares. Premonitions were stronger than ever since they had settled in here, and seemed to relate more to mundane horrors than to straight-up death omens. And now, with the invasion of the Nightmares, Sollux was especially prone to sleeplessness, no matter how tired he was.

He was jittery, restless, and so late at night, Dib was bound to be awake, installed on the couch and tapping away on his laptop. And when that was exactly where Sollux found him, his immediate move was to make himself a nuisance on par with a needy housecat, settling himself right down across his boyfriend's thighs. And just like a cat, his demand for attention came in the form of silent staring over the top of Dib's computer.

After the prolonged exchange and pointedly NOT flirting, Sollux had stayed true to his proposal and had as close to a private discussion as he could manage with the girls outside the bubble, promising them that this would be the only favor he asked of them. He already had the disc sitting in the tray of his blu ray player and had made a call for a pair of pizzas, figuring that a supreme apiece would suffice, since toppings could simply be plucked off and left in the lid of the box. He sat down with his legs crossed in front of him on the couch, remote sitting in his lap and a case of soda sitting on the coffee table in front of him.

He didn't want to admit it, but the prospect of actually meeting up with someone he could legitimately geek out with was an exciting one.
